The haunting images of Machu Picchu usually fill people’s minds when they think of Peru. Although hidden from the rest of the world for hundreds of years, Machu Picchu is now firmly at the top of many travel wish lists. The area can be accessed from the nearby town of Aguascalientes or intrepid travelers can choose to hike to it via the Inca Trail or the less famous Salkantay Trail.
Besides Machu Picchu, Peru has an amazing array of sights to see including the brightly colored Rainbow Mountain and the oasis town of Hucachina. Adventurous travelers can brave the flight to see the Nazca Lines and everyone can enjoy the pisco sour, Peru’s most famous drink.
